In the upcoming episode of ‘Neuspjeh prvaka,’ former Serbian footballer Mateja Kežman sits down with host Mirza Džomba to discuss his remarkable career journey and life beyond the field. From the early days in Zemun, Pirot, Loznica, and Smederevo, Mateja’s path led him to fulfill his dream of playing for Partizan at the age of 19.
After two years, he moved to Dutch club PSV as the club's most expensive signing at the time, scoring 24 goals in 33 matches during his first season and becoming the league's top scorer. Kežman then continued his journey with Chelsea, Atletico Madrid, Fenerbahce, and PSG, ultimately concluding his career in 2012 in China.
In this interview, Mateja reflects on his career highs and the challenges he faced, including his experiences with Abramovich and Mourinho, and his unexpected move from Madrid to Istanbul. He also opens up about his inspiration to create Kežman Mountain Houses, a retreat on Kopaonik where he finds peace and reconnects with nature.
